By , based on Beninwebtv

European Union gas reserves stood at 73.61% of capacity, or 831.86 terawatt hours, on 12 October 2026, according to Gas Infrastructure Europe. Analysts cited by Reuters forecast stocks at 75% to 78% full at the beginning of November, below the five-year average, while benchmark prices had risen by more than 150% since the start of the year.

Gas stocks at EU facilities stood at 73.61% on Monday 12 October at 6am, with 831.86 terawatt hours in reserve, according to Gas Infrastructure Europe. This is the lowest level seen at this time of year for several years, leaving the market more exposed to supply pressures during the winter.

Analysts and industry professionals interviewed by Reuters expect stocks to be between 75% and 78% full at the beginning of November, about 10 percentage points below the five-year average. This level could keep pressure on prices during the winter and the next filling season in 2027.
