United Arab Emirates drones bombed four Al-Shabaab fighters in the Al-Madow mountains in Puntland, leaving two wounded who were later killed by local special forces. The operation, launched from the military base in Boosaaso, could precede a new Puntland offensive, according to local officials cited by AFP.

Two fighters were wounded in the bombardment and then killed by Puntland special forces after they entered the site, according to AFP. Local officials said the drones had conducted reconnaissance flights on Monday and Tuesday following a mine attack on the Puntland security forces, from an Emirati military base at Boosaaso airport.
