CR Belouizdad exempt from first preliminary round

Algerian club CR Belouizdad has learned its opponent for the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup. However, it is exempt from the first preliminary round, avoiding an opening clash in the continental competition, according to Elkhabar.

CR Belouizdad will face Mauritanian side Douanes in the second preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup. The Algerian club is therefore exempt from the first preliminary round.

Mauritanian side Douanes qualified by beating Hafia Conakry 1-0 on Saturday in Conakry, thanks to a free-kick goal by Mohsen Boudah in the 74th minute. After a 2-2 draw in the first leg, they won 3-2 on aggregate. USM Alger, another Algerian representative and the reigning champions, will face Equatorial Guinean club The Panthers FC in the same round.
