South African businessman Suliman Carrim is appearing again at Musina court for a bail hearing in a case involving alleged fraud and cross-border vehicle trafficking. The charges concern the interception of two vehicles at the Beitbridge border on 22 July 2026, according to the National Prosecuting Authority, cited by IOL.
South African businessman Suliman Carrim, from the North West province, who faces charges of fraud, attempted theft and money laundering, is appearing again at Musina Magistrate’s Court for a bail hearing, IOL reports. The National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) accuses him of involvement in the cross-border trafficking of bank-financed vehicles moved using forged documents.
According to Mashudu Malabi, the NPA’s regional spokesperson in Limpopo, the case concerns the interception of two vehicles at the Beitbridge border post in Musina on 22 July 2026. The cars were allegedly transported from Mahikeng, in North West province, and were to be taken to Malawi.
The hearing follows a decision by Pretoria Magistrate’s Court to grant Carrim bail of 100,000 rand on Wednesday. The court found no evidence that he would breach his bail conditions, despite his repeated absences from the Madlanga Commission. He must contact the commission directly within 48 hours, according to IOL.
The Pretoria court had already considered Suliman Carrim’s bail, after his detention in connection with the vehicle investigation.
