The Ghana Chamber of Telecommunications has called for greater public awareness of digital safety amid the rise in mobile money fraud and electronic financial crimes. Its Chief Executive Officer, Sylvia Owusu-Ankomah, said fraudsters were increasingly using social engineering techniques to deceive consumers and access their mobile wallets and personal data, Theghanareport reports.
Speaking at the Mankessim Market Storm, a community education programme, Sylvia Owusu-Ankomah said telecommunications operators had invested in security systems.
