Nigerian presidential adviser Tope Fasua says economic reforms are beginning to have an impact, with inflation down to 14.63% in September and more than six billion dollars in private investment commitments secured. The government intends to continue the measures and strengthen social protection, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.
Nigeria’s investment discussions in Thailand presented 65 deals and secured private capital commitments of more than six billion dollars, said Tope Fasua, special adviser to the Nigerian president on economic affairs. He was speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on the sidelines of the annual meetings of the IMF and World Bank in Thailand.
The government intends to continue its economic reforms while introducing social protection measures, Fasua said. He also said Nigerians should feel more of the benefits of the reforms as the authorities consolidate progress made on inflation, foreign exchange reserves, growth and investment.
