The president of the Libyan House of Representatives, Al-Salheen Abdel-Nabi, has challenged the continuation of the tax applied to the official exchange rate for foreign currencies and wrote on Thursday to the governor of the Central Bank of Libya and his deputy, according to the parliament’s spokesman.
The letter argues that Article 4 of Parliamentary Decision No. 15 of 2024 limited its validity to 31 December 2024. Parliament therefore believes that applying it after that date requires a new legal basis, Libya Herald reports.
