The Congolese Directorate General of Taxes and Customs lists 1,335 companies connected to the electronic invoicing system, but only 686 issue certified invoices; 649 do not, project head Séraphin Ndion said. Companies must comply by 31 October 2026, after which sanctions are planned and customers may reject non-compliant invoices, the Congolese News Agency reports.
In Congo, 649 companies connected to the Congo Electronic Invoicing System (Sfec) are still not issuing certified invoices, out of 1,335 companies connected between 1 July and 18 October. The Directorate General of Taxes and Customs (Dgid) is running an awareness campaign in Pointe-Noire from 20 to 22 October, ahead of sanctions due to come into force on 31 October 2026, according to the Congolese News Agency (ACI).
Among the connected companies, 686 are already using certified invoices. Dgid teams are holding sector-specific meetings and demonstrations, providing individual support and visiting companies to help taxpayers use the system regularly. It was established by Decree No. 2026-101 of 31 March 2026.
The director of general audit and research at Dgid, Séraphin Ndion, warned that after 31 October, customers would reject invoices issued by non-compliant companies. The Sfec is intended to improve transaction traceability and secure tax operations, according to ACI.
