DR Congo’s Minister of Mines, Louis Watum Kabamba, reaffirmed in Lusaka the country’s commitment to regional mining value chains and local processing of resources. At the Zambia Mining and Investment Insaka 2026, he also called for improved infrastructure and cross-border trade, according to Deskeco.
The meeting, organised around regional value chains and shared prosperity, allowed DR Congo to reaffirm its commitment to the local processing of resources and the creation of added value. The forum was held at the Mulungushi International Conference Centre in Zambia.
Louis Watum had already been announced as Félix Tshisekedi’s representative at the opening of the Lusaka mining forum in an article published on 17 October. The opening of the forum, reported this time by Deskeco, marks the next stage of this participation.
