ANC Youth League president Collen Malatji has asked President Cyril Ramaphosa to remove Democratic Alliance ministers from the Government of National Unity. He says the party is destabilising the coalition and calls on the Economic Freedom Fighters to adopt a more conciliatory attitude if it hopes to join it, according to IOL.

ANC Youth League president Collen Malatji has asked South African President Cyril Ramaphosa to remove Democratic Alliance (DA) ministers from the government, IOL reported. He also called on the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) to “start preparing and behaving” if the party wants to join the Government of National Unity, formed after the 2024 general elections.

Collen Malatji spoke on Thursday at a press conference at Luthuli House in Johannesburg, amid tensions between the ANC and the DA. The dispute notably concerns the ANC’s request to the Constitutional Court to reinstate 181 candidates excluded from the ballot papers for the 4 November local elections. The Court ordered the Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) to include them, according to IOL.
