Brent rises to $106 after attack on Aramco

Brent rose 0.3% to $106 a barrel, while West Texas Intermediate gained 0.2% to $94.3, amid tensions in the Middle East. Prices are reacting in particular to the attack on Aramco and the risks facing the Strait of Hormuz, reports Expansão.

North Sea Brent, the benchmark for Angolan exports, was up 0.3% at $106 a barrel at around 9am in Luanda, after falling 0.9% in the previous session, reports Expansão.

West Texas Intermediate, the US market benchmark, gained 0.2% to $94.3, while natural gas traded in Amsterdam fell 1.1% to 86.3 euros per megawatt hour. The movement comes as Iran attacks oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz and Saudi Arabia again intercepts missiles and drones launched by Yemen's Houthi rebels, according to Expansão.
