The Lusaka High Court has referred three men to their defence after finding that the charges warranted a response in court, over accusations that they took part in trafficking 29 Ethiopian nationals, Zambian media outlet Diggers reports.
Jairos Njobvu, 30, and Stephen Sitali, 35, are drivers; Pethias Mayembe, 43, is a businessman. Each faces 29 counts of human trafficking under Zambia’s law amending legislation against trafficking.
