Mityana Municipality is calling for public support to turn Ttanda into a cultural tourism destination and preserve the heritage of the Buganda kingdom. The project includes infrastructure, signposting and facilities telling the traditional story of Kintu, Nambi, Walumbe and Kayikuuzi, reports Nile Post.

Leaders of Mityana Municipality are asking the Ugandan government to support the development of Ttanda as a cultural tourism destination. They believe investment in infrastructure and cultural attractions would help preserve the heritage of Buganda, attract visitors and create economic opportunities for local communities, according to Nile Post.

The request was made at a meeting between Mityana’s technical and political officials to discuss the site’s future. Philip Emanuel Kakooza, a graduate of Kyambogo University, presented a project he developed during his studies, according to Nile Post.
