Ghana’s Supreme Court has suspended the enforcement of a ruling ordering the promotion of 40 police officers. The officers had taken legal action after being excluded from a promotion programme and had won their case at the Court of Appeal, according to Starrfm.
The suspension will remain in place while the Supreme Court considers the appeal challenging the Court of Appeal’s decision of 27 January 2026. The panel chaired by Justice Gabriel Pwamang found that the police officers would suffer less inconvenience than the state if enforcement of the ruling were not suspended.
