South Sudanese President Salva Kiir has replaced Martin Elia Lomuro as Minister of Cabinet Affairs with Ambassador Bol Wek Agoth, after Lomuro spent more than two decades in government service. Kiir also appointed Angelo Ngot Mayar acting governor of Warrap and named former Vice-President Hussein Abdelbagi Akol presidential adviser, according to Eyeradio.

South Sudanese President Salva Kiir has dismissed Martin Elia Lomuro as Minister of Cabinet Affairs and appointed Ambassador Bol Wek Agoth to replace him, Eyeradio reports. Lomuro had held the position since 2008 and had occupied senior government positions since 2005.

The dismissal came a day after an order signed by Lomuro on 20 October appointed acting ministers to oversee ministries without ministers in charge. The president also appointed Angelo Ngot Mayar as acting governor of Warrap State, replacing Agoth.

In other decrees, Salva Kiir appointed former Vice-President Hussein Abdelbagi Akol as presidential adviser on international relations and foreign affairs, replacing Costello Garang Riiny. Agoth took over as governor of Warrap State in June 2025, after Magok Magok’s departure, and had previously served as South Sudan’s ambassador to Norway.

The decision is another change in the South Sudanese government, after the dismissal of the health minister, reported on 1 October 2026.
