MINUSCA assessed its support for the National Mine Action Authority and the Central African commission responsible for small arms, which have notably received equipment and a 2026–2031 mine-action strategy. The institutions are seeking more training, equipment and funding, according to Centra-News.
The UN deputy special representative of the secretary-general in charge of protection, Ebrima Ceesay, visited the National Mine Action Authority (ANLAM) and the National Commission to Combat the Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons (COMNAT-ALPC) on 21 October to assess support from the United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilisation Mission in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA). Centra-News reports that this assistance is provided by the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS).
Since ANLAM was established in 2025, MINUSCA support has notably made it possible to rehabilitate its premises, provide equipment and develop the National Mine Action Strategy 2026–2031, according to Centra-News. At COMNAT-ALPC, discussions focused on the marking and destruction of weapons, intended to improve their traceability and strengthen security.
Both institutions reported needs for training, equipment and funding. MINUSCA reaffirmed its intention to continue its support, particularly to consolidate progress and strengthen national ownership of mine-action and weapons-management activities, Centra-News reports.
