Malian motorcycle taxi driver Dramane Kamiya donated 100,000 CFA francs to the Transition Support Fund during a meeting at the Prime Minister’s Office on 21 October 2026. Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maïga thanked him and presented him with an official letter, Mali Actu reports.

Dramane Kamiya, a 49-year-old Malian motorcycle taxi driver, donated 100,000 CFA francs to the Transition Support Fund on Wednesday 21 October at the Prime Minister’s Office. Prime Minister Abdoulaye Maïga received him on the occasion, Mali Actu reports.

Kamiya explained his gesture as an expression of “love of the homeland” and called on every Malian to contribute to the country. In the presence of Economy and Finance Minister Alousséni Sanou, Abdoulaye Maïga praised the initiative on behalf of Transition President Assimi Goïta, saying its moral significance outweighed its monetary value. The government gave the donor a letter of thanks and a receipt for the payment made into the fund’s account at the Development Bank of Mali.

The donation came two days after Abdoulaye Maïga resumed his duties as prime minister on 19 October, as announced in an earlier article.
