The Malian Armed Forces (FAMa) say they carried out two strikes on bases belonging to armed groups on Saturday 17 October 2026, as part of Operation Dougoukoloko. The General Staff of the Armed Forces announced the strikes from Bamako, according to La Nouvelle Tribune.
One target was about 100 kilometres north-west of Ménaka, in eastern Mali. It housed, according to the General Staff, “numerous terrorist elements” as well as military and logistical equipment. The Malian army says it observed and analysed the position before striking it, but has not given any casualty or material toll. The strikes are part of the ongoing Operation Dougoukoloko, conducted against armed groups.
