The International Monetary Fund has raised its global growth forecast for 2026 to 3.1%, while keeping its forecast for 2027 at 3.4%. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has raised its forecast for global economic growth in 2026 to 3.1%, from a slightly lower previous estimate. The institution also forecasts growth of 3.4% in 2027, according to its latest projections published on Tuesday, 13 October 2026.
The IMF attributes the revision mainly to strong performance linked to the artificial intelligence boom, which cushions the impact of the energy shock caused by the war in the Middle East. France is, however, an exception among European economies, according to the IMF.
