Four candidates approved for Nigerian basketball federation presidency

The Nigerian Basketball Federation’s electoral committee has approved four presidential candidacies for the 15 October elective congress in Abuja and rejected one for late submission. Outgoing committee chairman Lanre Glover says Igoche Mark must still provide his tax clearance certificate before Monday to remain in the race.

Four candidates have been shortlisted for the election for president of the Nigerian Basketball Federation, scheduled for 15 October in Abuja, according to the electoral committee, as cited by Punch. They are Olumide Oyedeji, former captain of the D’Tigers; Igoche Mark; Mustapha Abdullahi; and Ejike Ugboaja, a former national team player.

Ayo Bakare was disqualified after his forms arrived at 2.12pm on 8 October, 12 minutes after the 2pm submission deadline. Ugo Udezue is the sole candidate for the vice-presidency, while two candidates are contesting each of the other posts mentioned by the electoral committee.
