The Sudanese Armed Forces and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces continue to circumvent sanctions through affiliated companies, foreign partners and alternative supply routes. A Sudan Transparency and Policy Tracker report urges governments to target these networks that sustain the war economy, according to Radio Dabanga.

The warring parties in Sudan continue to circumvent international sanctions through overseas business networks, affiliated companies and alternative arms suppliers, according to a report by the Sudan Transparency and Policy Tracker (STPT) published in October 2026.

Entitled “Bypassing Sanctions, Sustaining the War Economy”, the report examines sanctions imposed since the start of the war in April 2023. It finds that the restrictions have disrupted some financial and supply channels without dismantling the wider networks that fund the conflict, Radio Dabanga reports.

The STPT is calling on foreign governments to target commercial networks and partners based outside Sudan that help finance the war, according to Radio Dabanga.
